Don't let the FLU catch you! Yes it's that time of year again..... Every season, influenza does more damage than most people realize. It can affect your child or parent, a friend or family member, a colleague or loved one. If you are over 65, pregnant, have a child 2-3yrs of age, a carer, have a long term health condition, or perhaps your unsure? Please call the surgery.
Flu Clinics are to be arranged and will be advertised for our patients once the practice has received our Flu Vacs
50-64 Year Old Age Group
Please note that people in the 50-64 year old age group will not be vaccinated against influenza until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered to this group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

Run jointly by the health visitor, practice nurse and doctor between 10.45 - 12.00 on the first Thursday of the month.

Run by the chiropodist every Monday and occasionally other afternoons between 13:00 – 16:00 by appointment only. Patients are to be referred into this service by the doctor.
We are able to remove warts, verrucas and other minor skin lesions by liquid nitrogen therapy. This is available by arrangement with the doctor. Patients must have seen the Doctor before an appointment at this clinic can be arranged. The Practice Nurse also does Cryotherapy on some simple lesions.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
Please ring for the results of tests after 14:00 and remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
