FLU SEASON 2020/21

Don't let the FLU catch you! Yes it's that time of year again..... Every season, influenza does more damage than most people realize. It can affect your child or parent, a friend or family member, a colleague or loved one. If you are over 65, pregnant, have a child 2-3yrs of age, a carer, have a long term health condition, or perhaps your unsure? Please call the surgery.

Flu Clinics are to be arranged and will be advertised for our patients once the practice has received our Flu Vacs

50-64 Year Old Age Group

Please note that people in the 50-64 year old age group will not be vaccinated against influenza until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered to this group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

When We Are Closed

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation. If a visit is required after 18:00 it is unlikely to be your own doctor who calls.

If you call the usual surgery number outside of normal hours the answering machine will tell you which number to ring.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
