Repeat Prescriptions
Two working days’ notice is required for staff to order and assemble your medication. However, if you have run out of medication and have been told that you should not stop your medication without consulting a doctor, a prescription may be issued urgently
- Repeat Medication can be ordered in the following ways:
- Online via the link at the top of this page – see receptionist for details)
- In Person
- Post
Please Note – Our Practice policy stipulates that we will only provide one monthly prescriptions to all of our patients. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Dispensing
The Haven Surgery is a dispensing practice. Patients who live in the village and surrounding district are able to obtain medication that is prescribed by the doctors at the Surgery.
In the interest of your safety, two dispensers check all medication. We also request that children are not sent to the surgery to collect medication. If you require them to do so you must either phone the surgery on the day they will be collecting them or give them a dated, signed letter authorising us to give the child the medications. If your authorisation is not given, the dispensers may not dispense the medication to children.
Patients living outside the dispensing area must have their prescriptions dispensed at a local Pharmacy. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy. One day’s notice is required to order your signed prescription.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
